Although “Be Kind, Rewind” may seem far-fetched at first, it takes about an hour to fully develop. Only then, will you find a great film filled with heart, and an inspiring message. Always follow your intuition, follow through on your ideas without getting discouraged, and don’t use a sour situation as an excuse.
Jerry and Mike come up with an idea to ‘remake’ popular films. Although short on cash and resources, they are able to follow through on their idea. Soon after, they become popular in their local community, and are flooded with requests to make more movies. Had they given up on their idea, they would have given up on their intuition. Their video store wouldn’t have become popular. Jerry and Mike will now go on to do bigger and better things. When your intuition is telling you to do something, then listen to it. It can only help in the long run.
Facing a lot of discouragement (especially from themselves), Mike and Jerry don’t have an easy time making their movies. When the FBI tried to shut down their business, they didn’t get discouraged. Instead, they worked extremely hard to make the best film they possibly could. Discouragement was not in their vocabulary, or they wouldn’t have been able to make such a significant impact on the lives of their community.
Could they have thrown the towel as soon as their business got started? Absolutely, facing problems from the get-go. Equipment shortages, costs, finding an actress, and producing the movies on such short notice. Had they thought about how tough their situation was, they might not have been quite as successful. When you are motivated enough, it doesn’t matter what hardships you must face to reach the target. When you finally get there, it is awe-inspiring.
Always follow your intuition, and trust that it is leading you in the right direction. Never get discouraged, even if the journey takes its toll. And never use your current situation as an excuse. “Be Kind, Rewind” demonstrates all of these qualities, and show how they can make life enjoyable.
